Gold bugs are cracking the champagne and toasting Gold when it has actually gone down in 2018 measured in the only currency that matters, the USD. Gold finished 2017 at about $15 above the current Gold price of $1,280.
So unless Gold goes up $15 on Monday Gold would have gone down in 2018.
