If you look at the western world economic scene there is no one thing that can be classed as a standard, in other words the politicians, the bankers, the multi nationals have stuffed everything up, so where do you put your money ?
I would much rather see the fiat system restored rather than discarded, I see the same value in Bitcoin as an old master's painting
Gold & silver have been used as and joined to money for thousands of years and I think that it the best way
So if the US has used all the peoples wealth without telling them I think that is inexcusable and will damage the whole financial system. Talk to the majority of ordinary people and they will have gold objects which they class as wealth
We will just have to wait and see as it will affect the price of gold
