Just as a follow up - Andrew Nielson replied to my email. He hadn't seen the article and was grateful for the reference.

The key thing to note is that cfcl is constantly in discussions with govt on both a state and federal level.

Currently, the approach is to continue lobbying the govt to exapndthe dialogue to include low emission technologies in these funding programs rather than solely focus on renewables.

If you haven't already it may be time to start harassing your local member of parliament and get them to earn their salary for a change.
