This is completely bizzare. Goldman Sachs is out of control. Normally, these big investment banks, via their broker arms, will trade on behalf of clients, but also will trade on their own account ("principal" account transactions).
Goldman's principal account trading has now reached over 5x its trades executed on behalf of client, but not only that, they have now reached about 50% of all trades made on the NYSE!!!!
Who is one of the biggest recipients of US taxpayer largesse? And, what are they doing with it? Lending it out to customers? Nah, having a punt, of course!
