If anyone here is interested in a real-world perspective, I agree with what Klarna has said that Afterpay will not be able to continue to charge the current fees they do. At 6%, they are the dearest option out there. Other options charge anything from zero to 4% maximum. As a business, we have seen a very substantial drop in the number of customers using Afterpay in the past 6-9 months while business in general has been increasing. Among the new players, Latitude is doing particularly well and also Laybuy. Zip has been mostly steady. The fall in Afterpay has been dramatic, perhaps in the order of 80%-90%. Paypal and even good old credit card seem to be more preferred.
