RESOURCES related companies continue to top the list of investment tips.
With nervousness about high oil prices and the potentially volatile situation in the Middle East, wise-owl.com suggests gold's "safe haven" status has come to the fore.
It therefore recommends Pan Australian Resources (PNA), an Australian-based mineral exploration company focused on copper, gold and silver.
PNA is gearing up to start production on a new copper and gold mine late next year, which, at current spot prices, will generate moe than $100 million a year in earnings and pay for its development in about two years.
Optima Trend on the other hand recommends Zinifex and Woodside Petroleum.
Zinifex is one of the world's largest producers of zinc, which is expected to be in short supply for at least the next two years.
Woodside is Australia's largest independent oil and gas producer and its production is projected to grow from 60 million barrels a year to 125 million by 2009.
Away from the resource sector, Huntleys' Newsletters recommends general insurer IAG as a buy, with the qualification that the company will have to make more investments in Asian insurers if it is to compound its dividend at 10 per cent a year beyond this year.
Huntleys' says IAG will return $200 million to shareholders by June 30 in a buyback or special dividend. This will be the fourth return of capital for IAG since it listed.
Finally, Alert Trader strongly favours Macquarie Infrastructure Group (MIG) as a low-risk buy at current levels.
The stock has recently declined more than 10 per cent and management is in Alabama discussing some new projects.
Alert Trader believes the stock can trade as high as $4.75 in coming weeks.
