I'm not sure that I understand what you are trying to say about the correlation between the POG and gold equities. If you mean an actual mathematical correlation then read on ....
The undeniable fact is that there has been a strong correlation (about 80%) between the S&P Gold Index and the POG for the last 12 years UNTIL the last couple of months. There is now a big break from the historical correlation. For this to "correct" either gold comes down or equities go up. You choose!
Get the data, do a regression analysis and see the truth. This historical correlation is simply a scientific, mathematical, provable fact.
