Hence the 1 in 10 results for wildcat wells.CSEM is a relatively new technique which apparently bounces electromagnetic fields off the various layers. (read the initial FAR report!!! Information is then merged with the totally separate seismic to firm up the drilling position.Shell has achieved great results using seismic AND CSEM.Tullow has 100% success as well and I assume they are using the same technology.It dramatically increases the success rate .If Shell firms up a site to drill the chances will be much greater than 1 in 10. If they walk, others will be less likely to drill as the CSEM gives a lot more fine detail information.Shell will spend a lot of money to acquire it and and if they drill, we believers will be in the money.The majors would all be using a combination of CSEM and 3D seismic.It makes it more expensive Shell obviously liked the seismic or they wouln't bother doing the CSEM.
