Well unless there is massive social change where the norm is that we revert to primarily 1 income households things are unlikely to change substantially as households with more income will always out spend households with lower incomes to get what they want.
"Not everyone has life styles that gives them choices."
Peoples lives are a product of their own choices whether good/bad, and so many peoples situations are due to their own poor money management.
