i believe one of the vendors is offering rechargeable batteries.
advantage is it is reversible. disadvantages are 2 operations, batteries need to be replaced, annual or more often re programming which currently requires trips to doctors but might be able to be done over cell phones, have to be careful exercising so don't break leads from head to chest, having little bumps on your head from leads and battery packs implanted in your chest very visible.
