Yes, correct. At present the hydrogen economy is a dream and much money is being wasted on it. To support conversion of the entire vehicle fleet to hydrogen without using fossil fuels to produce it we would require an investment in solar wind farms far beyond that required for electric vehicles only due to stated losses.
Nuclear is touted as a method for direct production of hydrogen due to the very high temperatures available but we know that without policy change this won't happen and even if it does would be over 20 years before any substantial facility was constructed.
