Unless it is widely adopted, I can't see Hydrogen Fuel Cell taking off - it's an infrastructure issue and, over time, it will be a mechanic support issue. Further, these vehicles have to sell and BMW is a premium brand. EVs have already shown us how hard it is to convert many markets with premium prices. EV prices are coming down sharply, Hydrogen Fuel Cell will have a serious battle on its hands. Further, will the likes of BMW and Toyota share their legally protected IP? - I doubt it.
ASM, as others have mentioned, is not about the battery, it is about the motor. Then on top of that you have other applications like wind turbines and military.
