Does not have to be as complicated as that .. you sign up with a CFD broker, you place your trades either long or short, exactly the same process either way.
Assuming you are short and you you reach your target you sell and pocket the profits.
You can also us stops, excactly the same as going long. Some brokers even allow you to place guaranteed stops for a premium so you can't get gapped by sudden announcements making the shareprice jump.
