WPL initial ASX release said that the proposed transaction was subject to Government approval. It said that completion was expected by year end. One condition that held up the completion was the government approval.

Once the government deemed approval was in place (no objections from Senegal 60 days after notification) the transaction completed.

I agree that if FAR can make their legal case that the notification did not comply with legal requirements then this situation might be unwound. For some reason FAR have decided that escalation to Arbitration is not in shareholders best interests at this time and they have passed the ball to Senegal government who have put it into their substantial in-tray and remained shtum. If Senegal government made a supportive noise I would have higher confidence in a FAR win but the silence combined with lack of arbitration action from FAR tells me this action, although not yet dead is barely fogging the mirror of hope.
