JrowL, you must understand three important things with this merger:

it is incredibly difficult to get a mining permit in New South Wales. Typically, once you get past local resistance then mountains of government regulatory red tape you face the illogical 'mining is evil' greenie attitude. Appeal after appeal.

The area CRC now has mining leases in is an old gold area. There is so much untested but previously known gold areas that makes this area a gold plum. Only 60 kms from Canberra and a nearby town, workers on the mine are relatively cheap to employ

There is an ex BHP mill already established and ready to process ore in Parkes, a 200km trip from Majors Creek.

There's plenty of up side to CRC and I, like many others, would have preferred to go this alone but it just wasn't going to happen.

Do a bit more research I would suggest. I'm not arguing the value for money point but this an incredible opportunity to get a regional mine going with mining approvals, finance and plans in place.

Resource upgrades to come just may prove irresistible.
