Good gains for nickel miners

NICKEL miners enjoyed a strong close to the ASX trading week after the commodity rose some 1.3% on the LME the night before – albeit the commodity was under a bit of pressure today from a stronger US dollar. The ASX’s purest nickel equity, Western Areas, rose a rather spectacular 9% intra-day on no news, with the miner set to unveil its full year results next week.
