Sydney - Friday - December 4: (RWE Aust Business News) - Tanami
Gold (ASX:TAM) has received further independent assays from the Coyote
underground diamond drilling program, Northern Territory.
These results continue to confirm the high grade nature of the
Coyote mineralisation.
Some of the more significant down hole intervals are 3.4 metres
at 58.4g/t, 2.8 metres at 88.9g/t, 2.1 metres at 20.3g/t, 2.0 metres at
104.0g/t, 1.8 metres at 28.7g/t, 0.3 metres at 107.3g/t and
0.3 metres at 64.0g/t.
The program of underground diamond drilling at Coyote is
continuing with 29 holes now completed for a total of 4,791 drill metres.
The 9,000 metre program is designed to test down dip and down
plunge extensions to previously identified mineralisation in the South
Zone and Bommie vein systems and conceptual targets beneath the current
level of drill coverage.
The drilling is being conducted from underground drill platforms
on the 219 and 207 levels of the mine.
South Zone results have now been received for a further four
holes and significant high grade intersections include 2.8 metres grading
88.9g/t from 0.9 metres, 0.3 metres grading 107.3g/t from 68.7 metres and
0.3 metres grading 64.0g/t from 58.2 metres.
A development drive has been initiated along the South Zone
mineralisation at the 219 level.
This drive has yielded extremely high grade ore, averaging above
24g/t at an average width of 2.5 metres over the 88 metres advance.
Abundant visible gold has been observed in quartz veins in faces
and along the backs over the entire length of the development.
Diamond drilling to further define the orientation and extents of
the South Zone has recommenced now that appropriate drilling positions
have been established.
Results have been received for two holes that intersected visible
gold in the Bommie veins and significant high grade intervals include 3.4
metres grading 58.4g/t from 188.9 metres (including 0.4m at 465g/t from
188.9m) and 2.1 metres grading 20.3g/t from 145 metres (including 0.3m at
141g/t from 145m).
Assay results are still pending for twelve additional holes that
have tested the Bommie Lode extents.
North Zone is located between the Gonzales and Bommie lodes.
It has been intersected by nine holes from the current drilling
program, with visible gold noted in seven of these holes.
Results have been received for three holes only, with a
significant intersection of 2.0 metres grading 104 g/t from 106 metres,
confirming the high grade nature of this zone.
North zone is open down plunge and up dip with further
intersections expected when drilling resumes testing the down plunge
extents of Bommie.
The western Tanami surface exploration campaign has commenced
focusing on resource definition and extension drilling of prospects and
deposits in the Bald Hill area.
Drilling at the Cuckoo prospect is aimed at defining near surface
mineralisation adjacent to the Bald Hill open pit operation.
The drill rig will then complete a number of infill RC holes at
the Kookaburra deposit that could potentially drive the current open pit
deeper prior to drilling pre-collar holes for diamond drilling of
Sandpiper extensions.
These latest assay results and coarse gold observations continue
to confirm the prospectivity of the Coyote gold system and the potential
to find additional high grade mineralised zones adjacent to and along
strike of current workings and at depth.
The company remains confident of further success as the
underground drilling progresses and the surface exploration campaign
continues.
