Well you're not correct. My position should be obvious and indeed I have explained it to you personally many times.
Any subtraction of weapons from law abiding citizens should be mirrored by disarmament of the government.
I'm fine with uniform disarmament. I am not fine with "one rule for me, one rule for thee". I am not fine with "these people are responsible, these people are not", especially if the former is the government.
In this particular case, if the police were not armed, and the citizen was, it is likely no one would have died. Would you find that a strong argument for police disarmament?
