I reckon it wouldn’t float with the boys and girls in the USofA.
I believe that our gun policy are far to restrictive but I can understand why we have what we have.
All laws are only designed to restrict honest people, such as myself.
If I were inclined to buy a firearm and not comply with our laws/regulations, it would take me less than a month to find someone willing to sell me almost any firearm that I could ask for plus a big chunk of ammunition to go with it.
It would only be a matter of Price/what I would be willing to pay, that would be an issue.
However, I have no need for a firearm and I prefer to stay on the correct side of the law.
As for the idea that the USA government could implement what you suggest, I think it would be more plausible to see Sleepy Joe canvassing for votes in Harlem wearing the full rig of the Grand Master of the Klu Klux Clan than what you suggest (even though it is a reasonable suggestion).
