Aluminium is the material of the future," says Gerd Götz, General Director of the European Aluminium Industry Association. By 2050 global demand will increase by 50 percent to around 108 million tonnes, he recently announced at the "Aluminium" trade fair in Düsseldorf. The most important drivers are topics such as lightweight construction, mobility and infrastructure.
