wink, I'm not saying EW is useless all the time - it can be useful. I rephrase what I said to what I meant to say - It can only be used as a guide at best, and at worst it's next to useless, and [so] only works in hindsight [after one realises where it went wrong].

IMHO it's just not reliable enough to be used on its own consistently, as you implied with you list of other very useful trading rules, as well as others such as money management. They are all essential for a consistently successful trader. I use EW for my intraday trading s well - it works sometimes. However, it could be just coincidence. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. In any case, I will continue to include EW theory in my arsenal for small picture stuff as well as the larger ones.
