I said from early on ---------------- a waste of a good referendum
wrong referendum
the real problems for Oz is how the place is governed - the system overall. Aside from revolution, and writing a whole new story book, I don't know how one would change it.
but, one thing is certain - it is not working well. The federation idea is a dog, the system where we identify races at official level - is deeply flawed from the beginning. The overlap in federal and state is crazy.
how is it possible to have one continent as one country and yet have the disjointed problems that Oz has?
It's like we had the perfect opportunity to get it right - and we went and did exactly the opposite.
Whilst I understand that the emotionally looking statement of 'chuck out the lot and begin again' ----------- is not doable unless one has a revolution -
it's really a total makeover that is necessary.
IMO - wrong referendum. But - a 'right' referendum wouldn't get a pass anyway.
