Don’t get panicked by such a comment as that’s what it’s designed to do. There is still plenty of time for a number of things to unfold so compose your thoughts.

There is merit in what was originally mentioned but to my understanding it’s quite a long winded process for it to eventuate.

I’ve seen this happen to a Gold Company that my Dad was in (and still is in) called Centamin Egypt. They de-listed of the ASX as they were also listed on AIM and TSX at the time.

Basically they had to show that illiquidity was a cost issue and they had to monitor the shares over a one year period before they could apply for de-listing. Even though approval for de-listing was granted there was still another 3 month window to unload your shares on via the ASX.

Also as part of the deal the company had to provide a broker for any ASX based holders who got moved across to the AIM/TSX exchanges.

Here is a letter that Centamin Egypt sent out to all ASX holders in regards to the de-listing. It’s well worth reading and will give you a good outline of the process and the tactics which the foreign listed company uses to get their way. (Chances are you’ll get a security message but click ok and you’ll get a 3 page .pdf explaining the process. If you give me some time I’ll see if I can find it on the ASX later tonight).

DYOR but just don’t get panicked in the short term is my suggestion atm. I’m sure there are other examples of delisting but this is one that instantly comes to mind.

(Listing Rule 17.11 was used in Centamin’s case to delist from the ASX, so maybe get your heads around that).
