I think we need to be a little more sceptical of what we read on here?
I actually suspect the classic "options" or "rights" entitlement confusion is actually not really confusion at all, rather a more sinister attempt by those with agenda to confuse others perhaps less informed, in order to limit the "competition" to sell stock on the "ex" date.
It is all a rather ugly process of self-serving misinformation, as wee all too often on forums.
Whilst I am sure there would be the odd newbie genuinely unsure of how it all works, the sort of persistent "dumbness" we see in understanding the realities is more likely to be somewhat manufactured.
As you say, it's the same every time it happens...just like the down-ramping that reaches a climax when the "players" smell blood, or get caught on the wrong side of a trade as they did with CVI on Friday night.
Now that was a seriusly decent effort over the weekend.
Some very unsavoury things take place on these threads from time to time...it is a real shame the ASIC and ASX are not more proactive in stamping it out!
I could probably give them a list of 10 or more posters names from here which I suspect would be a fairly decent starting point.
