Watching Planet America last night they cited a US Republican pollie in 1948 commenting on the economy saying "all we need now is to reduce corporate taxes to boost business investment". It didn't work then and Morrison's identical plan now has damaged the economy.

@Furpo2... the rethink needed includes the entire illusory strategy.

Closed borders is costing the tourism sector.
Transport and accommodation are great earners.

But Australia's main exports: iron ore, coal and farm produce rock on.

Closed borders are inconvenient to precious city people
but they produce little to earn foreign currency.

Australia will emerge strong - may take a few years though.
