You would be doing everybody a kindness if you got in touch with Wikipaedia and put them right.

Their entry for scandium reads: "Scandium is a chemical element with the symbol Sc and atomic number 21. A silvery-white metallic d-block element, it has historically been classified as a rare-earth element,[6] together with yttrium and the lanthanides."

And while you are at it perhaps also contact the Minerals Educational Coalition. Their website states: "The rare earths, or rare earth elements (REE), are a relatively abundant group of elements consisting of scandium, yttrium, and the 15 elements of the lanthanide series of the periodic table.Scandium (Sc) is the lightest rare earth element."
