Numbers look good, but September was the lowest German monthly car Registrations for the year. So can't make any conclusions out of one month of numbers.
Germany will lead the world in EV and PHEV, leaping up the S-curve over the next couple of years. US and China have political cross currents at the moment, so will lag. German elections in 2020 will only have a stronger Green showing. All political parties there have to show their Environmental policy credentials to have any hope of getting elected. Investors have to be forward looking, so should keep an eye on German data to gauge the level of take up in this fast growing segment. Remember also that cars are only one part of transport demand, itself only one sector of battery demand.
