Yep, I agree. Aus will be way, way behind.
But re the point about being impractical out bush.... the same could be said for mobile phones. Not much use where there's no signal, but that has never hindered their uptake.
People own mobile phones because in areas with signal (which is where they spend the majority of their time) they are very damn useful.
Eventuality, Aus will catch up. And the uptake of EV won't be held back by the relative few who live in remote areas. Nor will it be the 2% of our time we want to drive out bush. It will be driven from the cost benefits of everyday driving around our towns and cities, by the majority of the population
