anyone who loves cars and is aware of the cost of maintaining and rebuilding a modern car will soon understand the economics of ownership and risk associated with ICE will soon realise electric and the economics of repair and ownership will be more than competitive with the cost of maintaining a modern fossil fueled car, a friend a mechanic was rattling off the cost only, no labour ,on a rebuild for a modern turbo 2 litre motor it is staggering , the reliability and lower maintenance cost associated with ownership of something like a Tesla will be more than competitive with a modern ICE car it is absolutely inevitable we will move away from ICE we as investors are more aware because of vested interest, in the supply chain mining is the lower cost in terms of investment within that supply chain but the battery apparently represents 40-70% of the cost of manufacture and if a miilion kilometere battery becomes a reality then the battery might have a life of 25 years and in theory will be swapped into your new car after say 8 years before an update bringing dowqn the cost of the car over the life cycle of the battery----now just to get rid of that disruptive microbe and we can see the SP move where it should be---I am fully loaded now
