I have had similar thoughts re industry consolidation. Once the dust settles on the 2 year price-driven shake out, only the strong will survive: those with good assets, deep pockets and a coherent strategy. By "coherent strategy" I mean integration (up and down) the delivery chain. Being a dirt doctor is not going to cut it moving forward. The successful players will need to be "chemical" companies. To do that, there needs to be further consolidation.
I agree that an Aussie Battery Materials conglomerate would be a fantastic outcome. It would appear that IGO has embarked on that strategy, similar to WES (albeit their chemical business is not just battery materials).
There's room for one more!!
