The total addressable market for over the counter (OTC) testing is 300mm people in the US. We have 20mm. They need that scale and Getting an FDA approval is oft seen as a “first step” before other markets. Very rare is it that a non-us market approves a medical device ahead of the fda.
indo however agree there were likely other incentives to manufacture locally there; our government could learn to adopt a similar mindset for the lithium battery ecosystem to drive investment confidence
