Very few of the ASX All Tech index are software businesses, let alone 'cloud aligned'. It's a pretty crappy index IMO after I continually find more relevant, decently capitalized tech stocks that are not included.
Some of the questions, for me:
- Kogan. It's a retailer, not a tech stock.
- Carsales & REA - they are websites, but they are market places not technology (and then why isn't SEK there?)
- LKN and CPU - again they use a lot of software, but they are service companies
It's 2020 - every company has its own software. The real software companies (TNE, ALU, MP1) are only a small portion of this index. And MAQ isn't part of it? WTF.
FYI I took all my money out of MAQ today; 50% gain in under 2 months. It's a good company but don't see any huge growth here.
