The LNP have wedged themselves out of government for 3 or 4 terms. If Labor can develop and implement alternative industries in and around the Bowen Basin (Central QLD coal Country) then QLD will swing hard to Labor like WA at the next election or the one after. Regional QLD wants an alternative plan and the LNP haven’t delivered and only delivered a scare campaign. The Bowen Basin isn’t like WA and the variety of alternative mining or other industries, just coal both thermal and coking. Labor needs to deliver a plan for this region to stay in majority (assuming the most likely outcome ATM is a Labor majority) after future elections.
