Storage won’t be only lithium batteries. Unfortunately the transport sector have first dibs on the available lithium. Redox Flow batteries and other storage solutions will be used for grid capacity. See Energy Queensland announcement as an indication to where that is heading. Also another article link to a coal PS catastrophic failure last year. I was still doing my controller gig then, just before retirement and it was a sight to behold.
As I was on the inside, I had the chance to talk to the engineers. They are well aware of the Lithium shortage and will be procuring other battery type solutions as part of the mix.
