Hydrogen will not come close to disrupting the next couple of decades of EV adoption and the demand for relevant materials.
Yes battery tech may “evolve”
At the moment your ranged batteries are expensive, it’s not a case of supply and demand which will aid in cost reduction it is the incorporation/high volume of a cheap abundant material like silicon into the anode.
Less nickel more iron into the cathode etc.
Less carbon altogether. It’s dirty, it’s expensive and a contradiction to the whole purpose.
Lithium will be the constant no matter what they do with the make up of other battery components.
Hydrogen is the industrial play.
The amount of money and time it will take for the Hydrogen infrastructure to be established for industrial purposes will be far greater than the money and time it will take the powers that be to evolve the EV battery to make the EV that affordable for the masses, Hydrogen fuel cells in vehicles will not even be a consideration anymore.
