Nev, if you are buying as an 'investor' the shorts will have no impact on you in the long run. They pile on a company at times of weakness or broader market malaise but the thing about shorts is that to make any money they have to eventually close them out.
If you bought PLS as a solid long term investment then a short term decrease in SP is irrelevant. Either ignore it and stay the course, or take the gift and add more at a discount.
However if you are instead trying to make a quick buck by buying some lithium co shares in the hope of a 30-50% gain in a few months - then you need to be honest with yourself that you are not as good at that game as they are, and you've bought high and are in danger of selling low - exactly what they want you to do.
Don't try to beat them at their own game, you will almost certainly not win.
