Not only will they get better, they will get cheaper.
The fact is, an EV is much simpler in design and parts etc but the big up-front costs are linked to the need to retool almost everything away from the old ICE vehicles.
Once the new EV infrastructure is running at full capacity they will be much cheaper to produce than ICE vehicles.
