I stated the US macro factors in my comment and I’m not sure why they were relevant enough to sell - and I’ve been proven correct.
The tax consequences are also an excuse after the fact - he was sitting on thousands of dollars of profit as he has indicated. How does selling shares at a profit help tax wise?
