Lots of talk on hear about EVs and the energy transistion being better for the climate, but no one has mentioned the significant improvements to general local air and noise pollution.
No more loud motorbikes or bombadors in the suburbs, plus smog from our cities will be eliminated. I think the impacts to local air quality will be far more obvious and beneficial than from limiting climate change. You only need to visit a country town that uses wood fire places for heating, to see the massive impact this has on a local area. For example, Armidale in NSW has the worst air quality in NSW during winter. It is covered in a thick blanket of smoke.
