We're long overdue for a new car, and personally I'd love to make the shift to an EV now, however I'd like an SUV with plenty of space, good range, and that can tow a caravan and unfortunately there's nothing on the Australian market that comes close to meeting our requirements (and certainly not in our price range).
For 90k I can get a top spec brand new Ford Everest with change leftover. I couldn't get anything close to that in an EV for even twice that price at the moment.
I could look at an EV for a second runaround car, but I'm not willing to spend more than 40k on that, so there's that idea out the window also.
So in summary, yes I'd love an EV. But unfortunately Australia is wayyyyy behind in terms of choice and value, and that doesn't look like changing for quite a long time.
