Northvolt "potential" EU battery maker, not mincing their words in feedback to EU gov. How slow are these countries /companies in getting to this point. Yeah, we'll build and create downstream demand, but completely ignore CRM's feed needed to make the product we "plan" to make. You can't make this shite up, to me, this is playing out like a poorly plotted "Who Done It" movie, where you figure out who the murderer is in the first 10 minutes of the movie, NSS.

VW are also warning the EU gov wrt high energy prices making battery factories in the Bloc unviable, and there has been noise from media that EU auto OEM's may move the bulk of their operations to the US, on the back of the US IRA bill and cheaper/abundant energy. The EU are now whinging about the IRA, suggesting its framework is not legal from an international trade perspective. Ffs, for the best part of the past 2 years, the EU have been setting policy/advertising how they will tax the CO2 inputs of imported battery materials and bragging about how their circular economy will rule the roost in the production of batteries. The IRA is a cracker, great poker hand play by the US, blocking the bloc.

The good news, this can only boost demand for imported materials from capable and trusted supplies, like Oz, rant over....
