Wasn't the increase in shorts on that massive volume day on the last day of November? I believe we were added to some indexes on that day, that is why new substantial notices came out over the last few days. Makes sense that the shorts would increase that day as well, maybe there are shorters against the indexes we were added to.
I've generally found moving into indexes increases the ability of people to short the stock.
