We've been waiting for our EV for 9 months.
we were told 3 months at time of deposit.
A few months ago we were told this month, only for a week or two ago to be told june/july due to a lithium battery issue.
i thought this was BS. It's not hard to wire up a LiFePO4 battand ery pack to a Battery monitor system, I've made my own. If you can build an ICE you ahould be able to wire a pack together with sufficiently engineered components no worries.
Anyway, after a bit of polite back and forth and for reasons I wont go into, it turns out we almost certainly wont have the car for July, that was just the dealer kicking the can down the road with an ETA.
The most important bit of information however, the delay isnt due to issues building a battery pack or it being unreliable/ unsafe, its issues GETTING the lithium battery pack.
They literally cannot get lithium batteries fast enough to match orders from 9 months ago. They are well over a year behind production.
