Interview with Matt Fernley, FIBO too conservative, Matt is expecting LCE prices between 60k and 70k for 2023. If correct, contract prices will continue to rise and converge with spot sometime in 2023.
While futures contracts right now are small in terms of volumes traded, but a trade via CME Group yesterday has hydroxide pegged at US$76kg in 2023. Peter Hannah of Fastmarkets, said today has seen the most active day to date on the Fastmarkets-settled CME Group lithium futures. Interesting to see the forward structure taking shape with a ~$15/kg backwardation between Mar/Apr/May '23 to Sep/Oct/Nov '23
