Moony, the US have already committed to importing lithium salt from Oz, given our favoured nation trading status - keep up, dude. And they'll have little choice, given they are rushing to build gigafactories and they're 5/7 years away from producing their own lithium in any quantity. Sure ESG is an important dynamic, but high demand will overshadow that for the time being - you forget that the USA is not so much a country as it is a business and the almighty dollar trumps everything where the US is concerned. Less so in the EU perhaps, but again demand trumps everything, and for both countries our hardrock ESG credentials beats brine supply any day of the week.
