I think you misunderstood @ipv6ready. The lepidolite is from local Chinese mines, which go into their local supply chains that end up in a battery.
The Lithium in my Tesla could be from the glorious spodumene from Pilgangoora or from some dodgy Lepidolite in China - that we will never know.
