Sodium batteries will be needed for NEVs but not what you need if range is a concern not to mention longevity. They hold less energy are heavier and last about half the time. BYD will use them for cheap city vehicles in densely populated areas. End of the day for the transition away from fossil fuels all new technologies will have a place and be required.
