I'm not sure you're on the money there my friend.
Two examples I can think of.
A brand new ICE powered Fiat 500 can be had for $27K.
The EV replacement will go on sale at over $52K, and have less range.
Then there's the LDV ET60 EV ute.
Which will cost you near as makes no difference $100k!!!!!
The diesel equivalent is $41k drive away, and it beats the EV ute in every single metric that matters when it comes to practical ownership.
The only examples there I'd be worried about overpaying for are the EVs you feel make more financial sense.
