I suspect the main problem is that Australia effectively has no regulation against share price manipulation. I simply cannot believe our supposed regulators do not understand the common manipulation by selling down and then covering at a lower price that the sellers have induced. Makes me wonder whether perhaps many of our regulators have grown up with the sysyem and regard that sort of price manipulation as "part of the game" since the only real victims are the common, non institutional, investors.
