I think it's pretty relevant when the guy that more or less single handedly created the EV market that we have today (<-- trollbait for Mary Barra fans here) has such a train of thought.

I don't care about the use of sodium or any other battery types for something like a Tesla powerwall.

Instead, I would have gotten a bit nervous about my lithium investments if the guy that buys the stuff and puts it in millions of cars (and any some Megapacks) and will put it in even more cars (and some robots) in the future would tell the world to "buy sodium". When other (less efficient) car companies decide that lithium is too expensive for them and they want to use sodium batteries in their cheap cars ... as a cheap, yet inferior alternative - fine with me.
Only tells me that lithium prices will stay up for a long while... and sodium batteries are not what first comes to mind for people whose mind is a few years ahead of other peoples'.
